INGREDIENTS

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 ½ cups chopped onion
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 2 Tbsp chopped parsley, plus extra to garnish
  • 1 cup Best Foods mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon ground white pepper

RECIPE DIRECTIONS

  1. Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add onion and salt to the pan, cook until onion is caramelized, stirring often. This should take about 20-25 minutes. Remove from the heat and allow to cool.

  2. Mix sour cream, lemon juice, parsley, mayonnaise, garlic powder and white pepper together in a bowl. Stir in cooled onions. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.

  3. Garnish with parsley and lemon slices, and serve with crudités, toasted bread, or the old Kiwi classic, chips and dip.
