  • 1 medium onion
  • 500g mince
  • 1/4 cup gherkins
  • 3/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 3 tbsp Chunky Burger sauce
  • 1 egg
  • 3 sheets flaky pastry
  • 2 Tbsp almond milk
  • 1/4 cup Chunky Burger sauce

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C and line a baking tray with baking paper.

  2. Finely dice the onion and gherkins.

  3. Heat a non-stick frying pan with the olive oil on medium-high heat. Add the mince and onion and fry to cook the mince. Set aside to cool.

  4. Add the cooked mince to a bowl with the diced gherkins, bread crumbs, first measure of burger sauce, and egg. Mix to form a sticky paste, then allow to cool before handling.

  5. Divide the meat mixture into 3 equal portions and shape each into a log. Place one log along the centre of each pastry sheet. Fold the pastry over the meat and press the edge to seal. Stab with a fork a few times on each roll to allow the steam to escape, then slice into 6 pieces per roll.

  6. Spread the rolls evenly on the baking tray, then brush with the almond milk. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown and cooked through.
